Type: Remodel
Size: 1700 sqft
Location: Prairie Village, Kansas
Client: ...dynamic, diverse couple with a strong interest in design that blends beauty with practicality.
Response:
Pass by this small, unassuming ranch in Prairie Village and one would have little idea of the dynamic environment that lies inside. The clients came to us with spaces that were chopped up and poorly functioning for both their daily and special event needs. We reassigned the spaces, opened up the walls, and gave the reconfigured “container” a very dynamic feel through our selection of materials, color and detailing.
The new space now functions perfectly for an quiet evening for two or a continuous yet spatially diverse gathering space for their many friends.

Client Comments:
“When we contacted Driftworks, we knew our space contained some inherent difficulties. We wanted to transform our existing space into a more workable, open and modern space that would satisfy functional and artistic needs. The space needed to flow, and create openness without feeling overwhelming. We sought energy efficient options, and used many environmentally friendly and sustainable products. Every need had to fall within our budget- and satisfy our palette aesthetically.
It truly felt like a partnership – Bill and Jason provided the direction and creativity for the project, but always kept in mind our ultimate desires and goals. In addition to being an architect, Bill is a very talented designer. Our space was created with an awareness of how the design and architecture would work together. Bill guided our choices of color, lighting, furniture, art and flooring to create a space that is functional and warm while incorporating our personal taste and style. ...Bill and Jason are professional, reliable, and a joy to work with. We highly recommend them to anyone looking to create a unique and beautiful space in their home.”
